T3 Plants - Wall End Nursery

This small family nursery run by Leila Jackson and her father, Eric Turner, has big plans for the future.

It all started in 2001 when Eric was bought an Abutilon by his wife Teri. He became fascinated about these dainty bell shaped flowers that had a long flowering season and despite their delicate appearance are actually hardy. His collection grew and then he started to propagate. Daughter Leila, who has a degree in horticulture, could see the business opportunities and since she joined the nursery their collection has grown to over 60 varieties. They propagate most of their own plants and now breed new varieties too. To demonstrate the significance of their passion, there are plans to hold a National Collection of Abutilon’s in 2012.

Whilst Eric got the abutilon bug, Leila’s particular passion is salvias. So in addition, they also propagate salvias and have over 30 on offer during the year. The two specialisms are complimented by a very wide range of unusual herbaceous perennials, so there is a good choice of plants available.

This is a nursery that is all about growing quality plants, and recent awards have recognized this. It’s welcoming, relaxed and run by passionate plant people, just the right ingredients for a great nursery.
